Brevidy + Adobe - More Speed with the NEW Retiming and Text Editing Tool - V1.2.0
Oh, man! This is a huge update - 10x rendering speed, a new retiming feature, and new background word styling. You can also easily edit the caption text by using the new 'Text' tool and can now re-run previous jobs!
We wrapped up August with exciting updates on the brand-new build of Brevidy. The caption template has been completely redesigned, with support from Adobe, to ensure lightning-fast rendering times. If you experienced any slowness with previous versions of the tool, I highly encourage you to try out this new version.
10x Renders
We've optimized the caption template to be 10x faster! The entire After Effects project (which we use as a MOGRT to render your captions) has been gone through and rethought. Expressions now access data automatically, bottleneck functions have been removed and the backgrounds are now much more accurate with less layers. This thing is blazing fast 🏎️
Additionally, we have identified a glitch in After Effects that was causing some random frames to show incorrect captions. Patched.

Retiming is now easy
Introducing the new Retiming tool! Ya'll have been asking for this one and it's finally here. This tool allows you to quickly retime your captions straight from the Premiere timeline.
Here's how it works 👇
- When you have a sequence open with captions, select the Retime tool and click 'Start Retiming'
- Brevidy will generate an image of the text for every word and insert them into your timeline. Each image contains the caption word and is placed at the current time of that caption in your timeline
- Adjust the in and out points for these layers so that they are precise with the audio in your sequence and click 'Confirm'. Boom.
New Word Background Styling
In the latest Brevidy update, we added new styling options for the active and highlight word backgrounds. Feel free to dial in the padding, roundness, color, and opacity! Save it as a preset and you are ready to rock 🤘
New text editing tool
A much overdue feature is finally here! Select the new 'Text' tool and select a block of captions that you would like to edit. Simple 🫡
